Awarded two-year consecutive (2012 & 2013) Gold Medal at Los Angeles International Wine Competition, this Junmai Daiginjo commands collection of sweet aromas from various fruits including grape and other berries. Wide and heavy with lots of expansive elements, this full-bodied Daiginjo is a favorite for many sake enthusiasts in Japan including Nori & Steven, the Yuzu co-founders.
Brewery: Asahi Shuzo, Yamaguchi, Japan
“We brew sake for sipping, not for drinking” – comment by the Toji (sake maker) at Asahi Shuzo underwrites the fine quality and taste of Dassai this renowned sake brewery makes. Asahi Shuzo is one of the very few sake breweries in Japan that brews only Junmai Daiginjo and does 100% of the sake making processes in-house, including the rice-milling thereby assuring the quality of the extremely difficult process of milling away the outer part of the rice down to the center starch part.
